Amir Khan has hit back after he was abused online for sharing a photo of his family at Christmas.

The boxer was trolled after he posted a picture on his Twitter and Instagram of himself, his wife and their children wearing festive pyjamas.

People called out the Bolton born fighter, who is Muslim, for celebrating a Christian holiday.

The image shows Amir, his wife Faryal Makhdoom and their daughters Lamaisah and Alayna wearing reindeer-themed pyjamas in front of a Christmas tree.

He wrote in the caption: “Wishing you a magical and blissful holiday! Merry Christmas”.

Some people took offense to the happy family image, however, with one saying: “We muslims celebrate Eid. Not Christmas. Amir, you won’t ever be accepted by them no matter how christmassy you get”.

Another added: “Brother Muslims are not supposed to wish, because there is wrong faith behind this, May Allah Almighty guide us all in the straight path”.

Amir didn’t stay silent, sending another tweet where he had a simple message for the haters: “So shocked by all the hate I’m getting on my Twitter & instagram for wishing everyone Merry Christmas and posting a picture with my family in Christmas outfits. Just want to tell those people ‘I don’t give a f**k’”.

And people were quick to support him, with one writing: “You are allowed to celebrate Christmas as you wish. I hope you and your family had a lovely time”.

Another fan wrote: “Merry Christmas to you and your beautiful family, Amir.”
