Asda and Tesco have issued an important message about shopper safety.
In light of recent events, Asda and Tesco have issued a message to inform shoppers that if they ever feel unsafe they can seek refuge in their stores.
Posting on Facebook, Asda wrote: “EVERYONE HAS THE RIGHT TO FEEL SAFE.
“Please know that you can always take your time, wait inside to reach out to our colleagues should you be concerned for your safety.
“Customers and colleagues, we will be there for you.”
The post has been shared thousands of times and the supermarket has been praised for its efforts in keeping people safe.
One person commented: “Great to see you step up once again Asda. Fair play to you, always on top of what’s happening in the world and providing a solution to it.This is a great piece of advice, if anyone is near a Asda and is feeling scared. They can go seek help. Well done.”
Another wrote: “So many people missing the point here. This isn’t anything to do with covid, this is about not feeling safe when you’re simply going about your daily business.
“It’s great to see Asda recognising this is an issue and reassuring people that they can ask for help if something feels off. Always listen to your gut, if it doesn’t feel right, it’s not, better to be wrong than another statistic.”
Meanwhile, Tesco wrote: “All our stores are safe spaces. Come in and ask for help any time you need it. #EveryLittleHelps.
“All our stores are safe spaces. So if you ever feel unsafe, please use our stores to wait for a taxi, a bus or a friend for as long as you need to. Our colleagues will be more than happy to help.”
One commented: “Thank you Tesco, your support is much appreciated in uncertain and scary times for all people.”
A second said: “Well done tesco, for not specifically stating this is for women to feel safe. It’s important for men too.”
