Asda has came under fire for sharing images of a plus size model wearing lingerie that seemingly ‘doesn’t fit’.
George at Asda shared two photos of model Olivia Campbell to show off its lacy lingerie range on Instagram.
Olivia, who goes by the Instagram handle ‘curvycampbell’, describes herself as a ‘baddie with a belly’ who is ‘here to help you fall in love with yourself’, and frequently posts pictures of herself modelling an array lingerie on Instagram.
However, despite Olivia looking fantastic in Asda’s lime green and baby pink lingerie sets, many customers took issue with the fitting of the garments themselves, with some even saying they ‘didn’t fit’.

One social media user wrote: “No no no no – it’s lovely lingerie but it just does not fit this beautiful girl!! Please dress your models in sizes that actually fit, look at the bra??? It must be so uncomfortable and as for the briefs, good god.”
Another commented: “It would be helpful if they were properly fitting items. I’m all for curvy models and she’s gorgeous but those pieces do not fit her properly.”
A third pointed out: “I’m all for promoting a positive body image, but this doesn’t even fit her!”
Asda has since said in a statement: “The new George lingerie campaign highlights a positive message around both diversity and inclusion.

“We strongly believe that people from all walks of life should be represented equally and do not tolerate abusive comments directed towards any group of people including those featured on our social media channels.”
This comes after the retailer was praised for using a woman with stretch marks to model its Valentine’s Day lingerie collection.
Asda used London-based model and mother-of-two Bruna Teixeira, who models a variety of lingerie in unfiltered and ‘body empowering’ photos.
When they shared the image onto their Instagram page, they were flooded with praise and comments from women who felt represented by the natural photo.
