A driver picked up a new Lamborghini and just 20 minutes later had a crash on the M1 near Wakefield.

In a seriously unfortunate accident, the driver pulled over due to a mechanical failure when a van ploughed into the back of the new Lamborghini.

West Yorkshire Police tweeted: “It’s only a car! But on this occasion a 20 minute old brand new Lamborghini that stopped due to mechanical failure in lane 3… hit from behind by an innocent motorist #couldhavecried.”

The van driver was left with non-serious head injuries.

The crash happened at 1pm on June 24th on the southbound carriageway between Junction 40 at Flushdyke and Junction 39 at Durkar.

The car is believed to be worth around £200,000 and was almost obliterated just 20 minutes after leaving the showroom.

The crash caused major delays but all lanes were open just under two hours later at 2:50pm.

This is some serious bad luck, but thankfully no one came away with any serious injuries!
