Cadbury has announced the long-awaited comeback of its nostalgic festive Puds, just in time for Christmas.

The tasty chocolate treats – which are filled with truffle, chopped hazelnuts and rice crisps – mysteriously vanished from shelves in 2003, much to the dismay of chocolate-lovers across the nation.

But last year, Cadbury Puds made their grand return for the festive period, proving to be as big of a hit as they were back in the 1990s.

And now, following last year’s success, Cadbury has made the decision to bring the beloved Puds back for 2022.

Excited customers have been taking to Twitter to show images of the chocolatey treats back on display in supermarkets as single Puds or a sharing pack of five Puds.

Sarah Foden, Cadbury Archivist, said: “We are very proud to have brought back our nostalgic festive customer favourite, Cadbury Puds.

“Returning by popular demand for a second year running, these delicious treats hail from the early 90s, when they quickly became the nation’s No.1 self-treat option.”

Cadbury’s Brand Manager Nicole Dudley added: “We’re thrilled that they are now back on the shelves, with packaging that replicates the design of their original look with a modern twist.

“When you hear the term ‘Christmas Pud’, your mind is immediately drawn to the traditional festive dessert – a traditional sweet treat that not everyone has a taste for.

“But with our Cadbury Puds, we promise chocolate lovers a Christmas Pud you’ll love, with its deliciously crunchy chocolate truffled centre.

“Available as a single Pud for those self-treat moments, or as a sharing pack for moments with loved ones, we can’t wait to hear how they go down this year, after such a triumphant return in 2021.”

Cadbury Puds can be found in stores and online at a number of supermarkets including Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda and Waitrose.
