A care home resident was asked what she would like for her 95th birthday and she surprised everyone with what she wished for.
Muriel Treszke was preparing to celebrate her 95th birthday, when staff at Cwrt-Clwydi-Gwyn care home resident in Skewen, Wales, asked her what she would like as a present.
Muriel, who has lived at the home run by HC-One since April 2022, told area director for South Wales Eileen Coyle-Jones of her unusual wish.
And much to her surprise, as well as the other residents’ she lives there with, her wish was granted.
On June 28th Muriel’s daughter Ursula Morgan and fellow resident Verna were invited to celebrate her special day with her.
They all enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea prepared by the home’s chef Kris, along with prosecco and chocolate-covered strawberries, served to her by butler in the buff Matt.
Chef Kris made the day extra special, making homemade scones, sandwiches and a variety of sweet treats.
After some bubbly, a good chat and a belly full of delicious food, Muriel got up to dance with her birthday butler.
Muriel said: “It was one of the best days I have ever had and one I will never forget. Matt was a true gent and I really enjoyed our dance.”
Her daughter Ursula added: “I knew the minute I walked in that this was the right home for mum, and this just proves that – her birthday surprise has made her so happy, it was an amazing day.”
