A wine merchants is on the look out for someone passionate and knowledgable enough about prosecco to become their official ‘taster’.
While we all love a glass of fizz from time-to-time, the idea of having a very valid and productive excuse to drink the good stuff all day long sounds a little too good to be true.
But low and behold, there is an actual Prosecco Taster vacancy, and the role could very well be yours.
Following the success of its original job advert last year, family wine merchants House of Townend are once again looking for the ideal candidate to test and give feedback on its vast selection of wine.

Much like last year, the successful candidate will be required to give valuable feedback on a range of the Townend prosecco and sparkling wines.
The chosen applicant’s responsibilities will include:
Sampling a range of House of Townend’s finest prosecco and sparkling wine.
Providing detailed feedback on flavours, aromas and mouthfeel.
Suggesting areas in which the flavour could be improved.
The winning candidate will also be paid generously in prosecco, and will receive a bottle each of Amori Prosecco, Barocco Prosecco, Pure Prosecco, Villa Sandi Il Fresco Prosecco Organic, Villa Sandi Prosecco Rose and Pure Prosecco Rose.
Reckon you’re up to the job?
The role is a fixed-term contract for one month and can be completed alongside a full-time job, so get those drafted letters of resignation scrapped for now.
In order to apply, hopeful applicants will need to enter their details in The House of Townend’s application form. The successful candidate will then be selected and announced on September 1st.
