A drug dealer posing as a Deliveroo driver in Manchester’s city centre was arrested by GMP over the weekend.
Police were on surveillance in the centre for a different operation on Saturday, April 30th, when they spotted Mohammed Ali, twenty-seven, acting suspiciously while sitting on a Deliveroo motorbike and ‘masquerading’ as one of the firm’s delivery drivers.
After arresting Ali, officers found cocaine, MDMA and cannabis inside his insulated food bag, while further analysis of his phone found evidence of drug dealing.
Sharing a photo of Ali and the contents of his bag – which also included wads of cash – GMP wrote on Twitter: “Dealeroo – We saw a delivery rider acting suspiciously today, upon searching him, we found more than the Chef’s Special!
“He was then arrested for Possession with Intent To Supply Drugs & remains in police custody for questioning.
“P.S. We’re sorry if you didn’t get your delivery!”
Ali, from Manchester, has since admitted possession with intent to supply cannabis, cocaine and MDMA.

He also admitted driving a Yamaha bike without a licence, driving with no insurance and fraudulently using a registration plate.
Prosecutor Tony Stanway said: “The officers in the case were on surveillance on Withy Grove on another job when they saw the defendant on a Deliveroo motorbike and masquerading as a delivery driver.
“He was seen having various exchanges with members of the public and exchanging packages. He was approached and searched and found with various drugs. His phone was also interrogated and was consistent with drug supply.”
