A man has been arrested after he climbed up the Big One at Blackpool Pleasure Beach yesterday.
Shocking photos on social media showed the man scaling the 240 foot tall rollercoaster at around 7:50pm last night.
Police, fire crews and paramedics were swiftly called to the scene and The Promenade was closed off, LancsLive reported.
Lancashire Police said the man came down voluntarily after around twenty minutes before being arrested on suspicion of causing a public nuisance.
No injuries were reported, and he remains in custody today for questioning.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Constabulary said: “We were called around 7.50pm yesterday (Monday, July 5th) to a report of a concern for safety in Blackpool.
“A man had climbed part of the Big One rollercoaster at the Pleasure Beach in Ocean Boulevard.
“Emergency services attended with the Promenade closed. The man came down on his own and was later arrested.
“A forty-nine-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested on suspicion of causing a public nuisance and is in custody.”
