A local farmer has expressed his anger after fly tippers dumped the rubble from a takeaway kitchen – complete with menus – onto his land.

Andrew Sharpe was horrified to find the remnants of a Stockport takeaway kitchen on his Moss Side Farm near Warrington.

Included in the waste was a fridge, a separate freezer, a toilet and lots of building material, including advertising flyers and menus.

The culinary garbage was dumped in the middle of the night last Saturday on a farm track about 500 yards off the busy Manchester Road.

However, despite menus and advertising flyers for Stockport’s Chicklicious being included within the rubble, Andrew and his son, Jack, haven’t had any luck tracking down the culprits because there is no suggestion the owner of the takeaway knew the rubble would be dumped.

Andrew managed to get hold of the contractor, called ‘Gareth’, who claimed he had also been a victim of fly-tipping, and would be chasing down the culprit.

Though ever since the one phone call, Andrew hasn’t been able to get back in touch with him.

Andrew, whose family have been growing crops on the land since the Second World War, said: “I’ve a good mind to load it onto the back of one of my trailers and deliver it back to them.

“But I’d probably get into trouble.

“We’ve tried to go down the route of getting whoever has dumped it to come back and clear it up, but they’ve vanished into thin air.

“So we’ll let the appropriate authorities deal with it and hopefully they will face a hefty fine.”

He added: “Getting that cleared up will cost the best part of £800. It’s an appalling thing to do. Whoever did it deserves what’s coming to them.”

Chicklicious are yet to comment on the allegations.
