A Greater Manchester petrol station has taken action in a bid to help alleviate the cost of living crisis.

The petrol station’s owners are hoping to offer the cheapest fuel prices in the country, in a bid to give back to the local community.

Limes Service Station on Manchester Road in Walkden has announced that they will be lowering their fuel prices significantly today, Thursday July 14th.

Co-director Hassan Mohammed told Bolton News: “It will be starting at 9am on the dot.

“We’re looking to be the cheapest people in the country by a big margin, as you can imagine we’re putting a lot into this.”

He went on to pay tribute to the people of Walkden, where he has worked for the past seven years.

Hassan, 30 and from Astley Bridge, added: “We have been trading in Walkden for seven years now, and the people of Walkden are the loveliest people you’ll ever meet.

“They’re hardworking individuals who build them up themselves.”

He continued: “We want to give back to the community and help with the cost of living situation in the UK today.

“We are hoping to try and maintain it for as long as we can because we are basically putting a lot of investment into this.

“My father has been in the fuel industry for over 35 years and it’s always been around Greater Manchester.

“I’ve been involved for 15 years and we’ve both been co-directors at the station for seven years – it’s a full family business.”
