Fans of Greggs bakery can now be buried in a sausage roll coffin as a funeral home is offering people a quirky send off.

A funeral firm is hoping to ‘break the taboo’ of having conversations about death by offering rather bizarre coffin designs.

From Harry Potter, the Tardis, Greggs sausage rolls, to Elvis themed coffins, those planning their funerals can choose a humorous casket to be buried in.

Customers can also opt for Star Wars, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead and Only Fools and Horses for film and TV fans, for the £3,300 service.

Bosses at Go As You Please say no ideas are off limits to help make a difficult day a little lighter.

The company, which has branches in the North East of England as well as in Edinburgh, Scotland, has said the coffins are designed to the needs of each individual customer.

It comes as general manager Murdo Chambers, 49, hopes to break the taboo surrounding death and help make a sad day a little lighter for families.

The Go As You Please website reads: “If you would like to lay your loved one to rest in a coffin that is wholly unique to them, then designing a bespoke coffin is a touching way of doing this.

“Instead of opting for any coffin from our traditional range, a bespoke coffin or casket can offer a heart-felt and personalised tribute to the loved one that you wish to remember.

“Whether it be through your choice of adornments, decorations, colour or print, a personalised coffin is the ideal choice for those looking to honour someone in an everlasting way by truly reflecting their personality and character.”

‘No matter how weird or wonderful’ your ideal coffin design may be, the funeral home says you can be ‘as bespoke as you like’.
