Home Bargains has faced the scrutiny of the internet this week with the launch of its debut Christmas Jumper.
The retailer, which is known and well loved for its bargain prices (it says it in the name), announced its new festive number via Instagram, writing that they’re ‘obsessed’.
They wrote: “We have a brand new Home Bargains Christmas Jumper in stores, Sleigh, what?!
We’re OBSESSED and we think you will be too, get yours for just £12 in stores now!”
However, a number of their social media followers didn’t share their enthusiasm for the festive knitware, with many slamming the whole thing as a ‘joke’.

One person questioned: “This is a joke, right?” while another wrote: “I love HB but this is a step too far.”
Though there were some people who seemed very excited over the prospect of a Home Bargains themed jumper to wear while they eat their Christmas dinner, with one social media user writing: “An xmas jumper I can get on board with.”
Another person noted: “Not going to lie, I’m tempted.”
A spokesperson told The Mirror: “We recognise how incredibly hard all of our colleagues have worked over the last year, to continue to serve the local communities that rely on them so much.
“In light of this, we felt it was only right to reward store teams by taking the decision to close all of our stores on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, and also close stores early at 5pm on Christmas Eve.
“As a family-run business we know the importance of being together at Christmas with those we care about most, now more than ever, and this is our way of saying thank you to all of our colleagues for their continued hard work and dedication.”
