Jacob Rees-Mogg was allegedly denied entry to Manchester’s Revólucion De Cuba last night following a long day at the Conservative Conference.

According to JOE Media, the cabinet minister was turned away at the door of the popular student bar at around 1 o’clock in the morning, with a member of staff simply telling the publication: “We stopped letting people in.”

The source at the bar added that after Mogg was denied entry ‘all the other Tories inside ran to the door to get a selfie with him.’

It is worth mentioning that Revs stops letting people in at 12am on weeknights, which might explain why Rees-Mogg was stuck out in the rain.

Though his failure to get inside the bar seemingly didn’t deter his spirits; the MP was seen down Peter Street chatting to a small group of people, including student Conservative Jordan Bhardwaj, who wrote on Twitter: “Fancy bumping into Jacob Rees-Mogg outside of Revolution Bar at 1am!”

She added that the two ‘didn’t really talk’ but she still managed to snap a quick video of him standing outside the club.

This comes just after former Tory leader Sir Iain Duncan Smith was ‘attacked’ with a traffic cone by protestors in Manchester.

The MP was walking to a meeting down Portland Street with a group of people following him when five people allegedly went to hit him over the head with a traffic cone. Duncan Smith told the BBC: “They then decided to follow me and started shouting abuse, such as ‘Tory scum’ and any other reason they could think of.

“I carried on walking and when I was getting close to the place [where I had a meeting] someone came up with one of those rather heavy traffic cones and tried to smack me with it in the back of the head.”

Greater Manchester Police confirmed today that they had arrested three men and two women in relation to the incident, saying that ‘enquiries are ongoing’.
