Kym Marsh has responded after her choice of name as a grandparent was slammed online. She responded on Instagram after she shared a photo of her grandson Teddy and was called out for her unusual name choice.
The former Coronation Street star is known as ‘Loli’ rather than grandmother, grandma, nanna or nanny, with some people seemingly taking offense.
Kym responded: “I LOVE how many people on here have an issue with my choice of name as a grandparent!?! Surely all that matters is that he is happy and loved why does it matter what he calls me?
“I know lots of people with alternative names! So what! Loli is my choice and I shall live and protect him til the day I die no matter what. I don’t care but it makes me laugh that people feel the need to be so vocal about it!” After a follower said ‘I choose nanny as grandma or granny seemed a bit old, but I don’t get loli’, Kym replied saying: “…I’m not the only Loli. I like as I think nanny and grandma sound way too old. Sorry but that’s me.”
Some followers jumped to her defence, with one saying: “It’s ridiculous that you can’t post a picture of your beautiful little grandbaby and some people gotta make it all about what you decide to call yourself… be kind people and mind your own business the world will be alot better place for it.” Kym’s daughter Emilie Cunliffe gave birth to her first child Teddy Archie David Hoszowskyj on May 3rd 2019.
