Manchester’s first H&M Home is officially open in the Trafford Centre

The Trafford Centre has gained a welcome new addition today in the form of Manchester’s first H&M Home store.

While the Swedish retailer’s homeware collection – which includes furniture, decor and home accessories – was launched back in 2009, it has operated primarily through its website with high street shops been few and far between in cities such as London, Birmingham, Liverpool and Leeds.

But as of this morning, Manchester officially has its very own H&M Home store in the Trafford Centre.

The new shop is the first of its kind in the UK and features an open façade with no windows, creating a ‘welcoming and modern shopping experience that celebrates style, creativity and culture’.

And during its opening week and in the coming months, H&M Home will be partnering with local businesses in Manchester to support the community – this includes a live-style studio created by Manchester-born photographer Jada Giwa.

There will also be floral arranging masterclasses with Frog Florists, calligraphy workshops with Mellor & Rose, and one-on-one beauty masterclasses with Elise Ferguson.

H&M Expansion Manager Chris Clare said on the new opening: “We are adding the extremely popular H&M Home concept to the Manchester  shopping agenda, which we know is loved by those in the city and region.”
