Married at First Sight contestant George Roberts has been arrested after three of his ex-girlfriends reported him for ’emotional abuse’.
The forty year old, who married former Ms Great Britain April Banbury on the E4 match-making show, is now facing a police investigation over the allegations of controlling and coercive behaviour.
Roberts was arrested in his home city of Worcestershire on Thursday September 29th, though has since been released on bail by Scotland Yard.
He denies any wrongdoing.

A spokesperson for the Met Police told The Mirror: “A forty-year-old man was arrested by Met officers in Worcestershire on Thursday, September 29th, on suspicion of controlling and coercive behaviour.
“He was taken to a Worcestershire police station and subsequently bailed to return pending further enquiries.
“This follows an allegation of controlling and coercive behaviour and harassment reported to the Met on Monday, September 26th.”
Just a few weeks ago, it emerged that three of Roberts’ ex-girlfriends had reported him to the police over his alleged ‘obsessive’, ‘manipulative’ and ‘abusive’ behaviour.
The three women were allegedly left ‘horrified’ after seeing George in trailers for the current series of the E4 reality show, which sees strangers be matched by a panel of ‘experts’ before getting married and taking part in a string of relationship tasks.

A spokesperson for Roberts denied these allegations, saying in a statement last week: “George categorically denies these allegations. As a father of daughters he finds these accusations deeply upsetting and does not condone abuse nor behaves in that way.
“These allegations were never brought to his attention, investigated or taken further by the police for good reason as they are simply not true.”
Channel 4, which runs E4, insisted ‘rigorous checks’ were made on the contestants and ‘any allegations of this nature are taken extremely seriously’.
However, E4 bosses have decided to continue with the pre-recorded show airing every weeknight despite the allegations and Roberts’ recent arrest.
