The Met Office has predicted that the UK could be set to experience two weeks of hot weather just after the final covid restrictions are lifted later this month.
After a week of grey clouds and depressing drizzle, summer is set to make a much-needed come back with ‘a good deal of fine and dry weather’ from July 22nd to August 5th – perfect timing for the official unofficial end of lockdown.
Temperatures are expected to soar well above average, with cities and towns around the country feeling particularly hot.

The weather is expected to pick up due to the heatwave currently languishing in neighbouring countries pushing northwards across the Channel.
Temperatures in Spain soared above 40C over the weekend, while Nordic countries have also registered near-record temperatures, including scorching highs of 34C in some places.
Tom Morgan, a meteorologist at the Met Office, said: “From around July 15th, the Azores high pressure will reach the UK bringing with it warmer and more settled weather.
“We expect to see higher than average temperatures for the time of year, reaching the high 20s.”

However, while I hate to be the bearer of bad news, there is still a huge level of uncertainty surrounding the alleged heatwave.
Met Office spokesperson Grahame Madge has dampened everyone’s parade, with him telling Metro: “There is a subtle but encouraging signal for more settled conditions from the middle of the month. This could lead to the extended period of the second half of July and the first week of August seeing warmer and drier than average conditions.
“However, this is not a forecast for a heatwave and more unsettled conditions are never far from the forecast.”
