A mum has gone viral on TikTok slamming drivers who park in the parent and toddler bays when they don’t have a child with them.

Chloe Cain struggled to get her youngster out of the car after two drivers took up the wider bays designed to help parents travelling with their little ones sat in the back.

The mum spoke to her 11.9k TikTok followers in a video showing the issue after she had to make a tight squeeze to get her son into his pram, saying: “So guys, remember my post on parking in mother and child spaces? Well, we’ve just arrived at the town centre. Let me flip the camera around.

“This car here: two young lads going to the gym. This car here: which, bearing in mind can’t even park in the space that’s there, is just an old man.”

She showed that the second vehicle wasn’t even correctly positioned within the parking space. Chloe asked the man if he was travelling with children and he admitted that he wasn’t.

The frustrated mum asked: “When will people learn?”

At time of writing, the post has racked up 51.8k likes and 5206 comments, with one person saying: “Drives me nuts!” Another commenter said: “Honestly makes me raging” and a third said: “Drives me insane too.”

According to the RAC’s website: while it isn’t illegal to park in a parent and child bay if you don’t have a child under 12 with you, you could still be hit with a Parking Charge Notice (PCN).

Parent and child bays are reserved for parents or guardians with one or more children under 12 years old. Disabled drivers should use the dedicated bays for blue badge holders.
