If you’re looking for a new partner, it turns out their ability to make a proper brew says a lot about them.

More than just a mug of flavoured warm water, offering someone a brew can symbolise the end of an argument, the beginning of a new friendship or just a little everyday token of love.

It turns out those who can make a proper cup of tea are actually more attractive, according to a study done by Plenty of Fish.

And as we all know, Northerners are pros when it comes to brews so we must all be absolutely stunning.

2,500 singletons were surveyed and asked how the humble cup of tea affects their choice in partner. One-fifth of those surveyed said the ability to make a proper brew is a huge turn on.

On top of that, 69% said its also very important to know exactly how your partner takes their tea and to lock that in your memory.

It goes without saying that 37% said a weak brew would definitely put them off a potential new partner.

And 17% said they would actually leave their partner if they put too much sugar in – dramatic – while just 9% said that adding the milk before the water would be a deal breaker, which seems quite low tbh.

What do you reckon then, would you leave someone because they make a rubbish brew?
