Peter Kay fans have been left outraged after a re-sale site listed tickets for nearly £1,000.

The Bolton-born comedian announced he would be heading back onto the road for the first time in over ten years earlier this week, with his nationwide tour kick starting in Manchester next month.

Kay also revealed that in the midst of a cost of living crisis, he has ensured his tickets will go on sale at the same price as they were on his previous tour in 2010, with prices starting at £35.

However, with tickets selling out at an unprecedented speed, many fans have been left with no option but to turn to re-sale website Viagogo, which has grossly inflated the cost of tickets.

The re-sale tickets for the Manchester gigs varied in price, with some seats costing over £120, and others costing as much as £921.

Tickets for other gigs across the country were listed as high as £944, with one person even claiming to have seen one for over £1,000.

Many fans have been taking to social media to express their disgust over the inflated cost, with them slamming the website as ‘unfair’ and a ‘disgrace’.

One social media user questioned: “How are Peter Kay tickets already on resale for £900+? It’s a f*****g joke. Should of [sic] not allowed resale”.

Another commented: “Peter Kay makes tickets affordable so people can go.. Then the O2 priority app crashes… Then tickets appear on resale sites for £1000 each.

“Something needs to be done to stop this it’s a f*****g disgrace and so unfair on people”.

Peter Kay previously spoke about lowering the cost of his tickets to make them affordable, saying: “It’s good to get back to what I love doing best, stand-up comedy and if there’s ever a time people need a laugh it’s now.

“And with the cost of living at an all-time high, ticket prices are starting from £35. The same price they were on my previous tour in 2010.”
