The A Place in the Sun presenter celebrated his ‘best ever’ Father’s Day as he reveals it will probably be his last.

Irwin, 49, revealed in November last year that he may have only ‘months to live’ after being diagnosed with terminal cancer.

His lung cancer has now spread to his brain, and the presenter — who recently spent a stint in hospital — has been regularly sharing health updates with his followers on Instagram.

In a recent candid interview with Hello! Magazine Irwin said he and his wife Jessica had decided not to tell their three children Rex, four, and two-year-old twins Rafa and Cormac – about his illness.

The couple , who married in 2016, have wanted to keep a sense of normalcy as best they can for their young boys.

The presenter took to Instagram on Sunday, June 18th to share a post with his followers, where he wrote: “Had The best Father’s Day ever.

“Breakfast of Chocolate Guinness cake baked expertly my brilliant wife then cards from the boys and visit from my brother in law for a brief pillion ride back in time to enjoy some of the highs and lows of the Ashes ending in more cake with more family washed down by a drop of champers. #fathersday.”

The dad-of-three shared some snaps to perfectly sum-up a Father’s Day well spent.

The first photo showed him smiling with his sons, followed by family time in the garden and enjoying a slice of cake. It then seems he also joined his brother-in-law for a ride on the back of his motorcycle.

Fans of the popular TV presenter took to the comments section to wish him the best day and praised him for ‘being brave’.

One follower said: “Fantastic memories p.s. love you in your leathers. Keep smiling you are very loved by your beautiful family.”

Another fan said: “Happy Fathers Day to a truly inspirational human xxxxx sending love and best wishes to you and your lovely family xxxxx.”

A third commented: “Thank you for sharing the moments of your special Fathers day with your family Jonnie. If I could have one miracle right now I’d give it to you.”

And a fourth person added: “Think of you every day Jonnie. You are giving your boys memories of a wonderful, brave daddy.”

It comes after Irwin spoke of the heartbreaking chats he’s been having with his sons, as he recently revealed:  “I encourage the kids, I’m positive about them and give them cuddles.

“I’ve started to tell Rex in private conversations, ‘You can do anything’. He’s bright, he’s talented, and comes home from nursery knowing more French than I do.”

The presenter added: “I’m acutely aware that everything I do has to be a good example. Some people in my position have bucket lists, but I just want us to do as much as we can as a family.”
