Fed up staff at a Post Office in Wales have found a new way to deal with rude customers by simply threatening to fine them.
A picture posted onto Reddit showed a printed out notice taped to the wall of a local post office, with the amused customer writing: “My local Post Office has had enough of your s***.”
The sign in the picture reads: “If you are grouchy or irritable, or just plain rude: there will be a £10 charge for putting up with you.”
That’s one way of handling rude customers, I suppose.

The Reddit user added: “I’d like to have been there the day someone was particularly c**** to trigger this. Or it’s an attempt at good old British humour. I can see Basil Fawlty having a sign like this.
“Either way, I didn’t test the fellow and was done and dusted in less than two minutes.”
The exact location of the Post Office in question is unclear, though a sign reading Swyddfa’r – which means Post Office in Welsh – is visible in the top-left of the photo, meaning it was taken somewhere in Wales.
Reddit users were very amused by the photo, though some were a little puzzled as to whether it was a joke or not.

One person noted: “This sign probably did more to annoy the customers than it did to improve how they speak to staff,” while another joked: “I hope this sign is double-sided!”
A third wrote: “If you’re serving rude customers a lot your customer service needs work, something in the business you work for is pushing them from annoyed to angry.”
A Post Office spokesperson has since told Metro that the sign was just a joke, saying: “We’ve spoken to the Postmaster who tells us they put up the sign as a bit of fun with their customers and have since taken down the sign.
“This couple who run this branch are very community-minded and popular with their customers, many of whom have seen the funny side.”
