Primark has received wide-spread praise for using a plus-size lingerie model with stomach rolls and hair.

The clothing retailer shared a three images of a woman modelling their black t-shirt bra – priced at £4 – across their social media platforms.

They captioned the post: “Everyday lingerie for ultimate comfort and support… T-shirt Bra £4/€5/$6, available in an expanded 32DD-42G size range and made using a minimum of 50% Recycled Nylon.”

Shoppers were quick to react to the authentic modelling, with many applauding Primark for selecting such a natural woman to model their lingerie.

One social media user wrote: “YES TO THE BODY SHAPE INCLUSIVITY PRIMARK, we love to see it!”

Another commented: “Bloody love this! It’s about time Primark”.

However, some people couldn’t help but notice the fitting of the bra itself, with many pointing out that it didn’t actually fit the model correctly.

One person commented: “@primark come on, do better. Lovely model, but that bra is an appalling fit.”

A second added: “Beautiful model but the bra is an abysmal fit.”

Though Primark isn’t the only clothing brand to use natural models for their lingerie range; earlier this year, M&S was applauded for using a plus-size woman with curves and stretch-marks to showcase one of their new bras.

The retailer shared an image of plus-sized model Megan Carole wearing the £28 Silk & Lace Underwired Minimiser Bra alongside the caption: “To me, from me. Self-love is the best type of love this Valentine’s Day.”

Megan, a body positive influencer who shares content across Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, describes herself as ‘a big smiler and lots of body loving’.

Sharing the image on her own Instagram page, Megan wrote: “The month of a whole lot of loving! TO ME, LOVE ME! Because when you start to feel it you will begin to heal it! That definitely helps when you fall for a set that is gorgeous is this one from @marksandspencer.”
