Sam Smith spotted in Wigan ‘doing donuts in car’ for new music video

Sam Smith has been spotted in a car park by the DW Stadium in Wigan while filming for a new music video with Calvin Harris.

The ‘Unholy’ singer was spotted by eagle-eyed fans as they watched them spinning a car around in circles for the third collaboration between Smith and Harris for Desire – which dropped on Friday, August 11th.

The new dance track, currently in the charts, shows clips of cars drifting and spinning around at speed in the car park situated by the DW Stadium, and fans just can’t believe the pair were at the unexpected location.

The official Desire music video features a group of young, adrenaline-seeking drag racers meeting up in an open car park, cutting to Smith as they sing and pose outside and inside a race car. 

They are also there to partake in the races, however, it appears it’s actually trained stunt drivers behind the wheel for the big stunts in the music video.

‘Desire’ first debuted in the UK Top 20 charts, peaking at number 12 and has since garnered over 18 million streams globally.

Another shared the video to Twitter, posting: “HaHaHa little Wigan’s DW Stadium getting in on Sam Smith’s new video.”
