Two hikers were videoed in an altercation at the top of Snowdon over August bank holiday weekend.

The footage, shared on TikTok, shows huge queues reaching the trig point at the summit of the Welsh peak.

While most people were queuing to get their view from the top, one walker decided to clamber up to the summit on another route.

Captured on video is the moment another walker approached the hiker and they end up pushing each other.

Chants from the people queuing can then be heard saying ‘join the queue’, while another woman shouts ‘there’s a queue!’.

Kenan Ramsay who filmed the incident shared the video on TikTok with the caption ‘Don’t do it’.

The video has racked up over 415,000 views and has almost 700 comments including one that says ‘there’s queues to get up hills now? we really overpopulated huh [sic]’.

Another wrote ‘there is no queue at the summit of a mountain, I’ll be doing what I want’, someone else added ‘lol all them mugs waiting in the queue, I would have [sic] done the same as him’.

He shared a second video where people booed and screamed at more people to ‘join the queue’, followed by one woman’s loud scream of ‘Join the queue!’.

Kenan has now changed his bio on TikTok to read ‘I queued’.

The incident took place following an open letter from the Welsh tourism leaders who called for visitors to be respectful of the Snowdonia National Park.

The letter warned people against ‘fly-camping’ following a ‘significant and worrying increase’ in the number of people camping outside designated campsites.
