Fans of Line of Duty and Killing Eve will be buzzing to hear about this new drama coming to Channel 4.

The show, ‘Help’, will follow the tales at a fictional Liverpool nursing home and the impact the Covid-19 pandemic has had.

It will be a two hour special written by His Dark Materials writer Jack Thorne. Jodie will play a care worker named Sarah who has her self-esteem knocked to the floor after being told she’ll never be successful.

Line of Duty star Stephen Graham will be playing Tony, a resident of the home suffering with Young Onset Alzheimer’s.

The special will follow their relationship, where Sarah realises Tony likes her more than the other carers.

Speaking on his involvement in the series, Stephen said: “Jack is one of the greatest and most truthful writers of our generation and in Help, he has crafted a profoundly important piece of social realism.

“I’ve wanted to work with Jodie for ages, and together we’re hugely passionate about shining a light on one of the biggest tragedies of our time and the people at the heart of it.”

Killing Eve star Jodie added that it was a ‘real honour’ to bring the ‘relevant and emotive’ story to TV and that she was ‘thrilled to be working alongside Stephen’.

She added: “We’re determined to do justice to so many of the untold stories and heroes that have been affected as a result of this crisis and to handle them with care.”

No set dates have been released yet but it is expected filming will take place in 2021.
