ITV has issued a casting call for Mancunians wanting to take part in the brand new Big Brother next year.

Over the summer, ITV confirmed it will be bringing the famed reality series back to screens once more, with the series going ‘back to basics’ on ITV2 next year.

Much like the former seasons, ‘housemates’ from across the country and all walks of life will be homed in a brand new Big Brother house, with the eyes of the nation watching their every move across a six week period.

Though producers have said this new version of Big Brother would replicate the success of ITV2’s dating series Love Island, with the aim to open up to a ‘legion of younger fans’.

And now, applications for housemates are open, with ITV said to be on the look out for ‘fresh-faced’ contestants from ‘all walks of life’.

According to the ITV casting call, Big Brother is looking for the nation’s most ‘interesting, funny, and entertaining’ characters from every corner of the country to take part.

Contestants will be tasked with remaining in the house for the full six weeks, with one lucky winner being in with a chance of winning an ‘incredible amount of money’.

Additionally, housemates will face a series of clever tasks, nail-biting nominations and live evictions, with the public once again playing a crucial role by voting throughout the series and ultimately determining the winner.

Producers have called the reboot a ‘refreshed’ take on the series.

Speaking ahead of the return of the show, Paul Mortimer, the Director of Reality Commissioning & Acquisitions and Controller at ITV2, ITVBe and CITV, said: “This refreshed, contemporary new series of Big Brother will contain all the familiar format points that kept viewers engaged and entertained the first time round, but with a brand new look and some additional twists that speak to today’s audience.”

Applicants for the show have to be eighteen or over, and must be available to take part in the programme for up to eight weeks from Spring 2023.
