ITV has confirmed I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! will be back for the 20th time despite the pandemic threatening its return in 2020.

The show, set in Australia’s jungle, is a favourite in most households, signalling the approach of Christmas and the season of sitting in front of the telly watching all the best TV shows.

Plans for the show returning in 2020 were rocked due to the coronavirus pandemic, however ITV boss Kevin Lygo has said they are ‘moving heaven and earth’ to try and film the next series.

It will be the 20th series of the show and there will also be a one-off show called I’m A Celebrity: A Jungle Story which will be showcasing all the best moments. Gillian McKeith’s famous faint must fall in the top spot, surely?!

Once plans are set in stone, it is expected that Britain’s favourite duo, Ant and Dec, will also be making a return to the Ozzy jungle.

It was recently speculated that the campmates for this season will have to do an additional two weeks of quarantine before the show starts.

I doubt they’ll be complaining about staying in that gorgeous hotel for an extra two weeks though!

It could mean that some campmates are away from their families for five weeks, meaning tensions in the camp will be high. So expect some drama.

A show source said: “I’m A Celeb is one of the toughest reality shows out there and adding a two-week quarantine period is only going to make it harder.

“The welfare of the campmates is the biggest concern, so having them possibly put in quarantine for a fortnight lessens the risk of anyone falling ill.”

Let’s cross our fingers for a new series with as much drama and shock as Gemma Collin’s sensational exit of 2014.
