Nikita Jasmine has spoken out after she was booted from Married At First Sight UK following ‘aggressive’ behaviour during Wednesday night’s episode.

On the dating show, which sees contestants tie the knot with strangers who are deemed as compatible by psychologists, twenty-six year old Nikita was paired with twenty-eight year old Mancunian Ant Poole – however, her behaviour within the relationship alarmed viewers from the start.

Nikita, from Durham, told viewers she was hoping for a 6ft tall man with ‘muscles, nice teeth and green eyes’. But, after meeting her new husband for the first time, she told the camera: “They’ve just done the total opposite of what I’ve asked for.”

Her behaviour on their honeymoon also caused controversy when she was seen throwing a cup at Ant during an argument and repeatedly subjecting him to hurtful comments.

And, in an altercation with other contestants over the dinner table on Wednesday evening in which Nikita is said to have accused them of only signing up to the show for fame, she was asked to permanently leave the show.

Channel 4 announced in a statement that Nikita’s ‘aggression’ had been ‘unacceptable and breached our agreed code of conduct on behaviour’, adding: “The wellbeing of cast and crew is our utmost priority at all times throughout production and beyond.”

They also said that Nikita had apologised for the incident, which was not explained but has been resolved, and that support was offered to all those involved.

But now, in the days following the explosive episode, Nikita has spoken about the incident, which actually happened months ago when filming took place.

She first posted a selfie of herself at the scene of the altercation with Ant and fellow contestant Charlene Douglas, writing that ‘nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors.’

Her caption read: “This dinner party took around 12 hours to film, it was a hectic day, nobody got to see the real deal. I’ll always have my girls backs even if it’s not reciprocated unfortunately. A lot of us created close bonds off camera. See the bigger picture people.”

Married At First Sight UK airs Monday-Thursday at 9pm on E4.
