One of the last people to visit the Queen’s coffin while it lay in state has revealed what the experience was like. The mum-of-two paid her respects to the Queen before speaking to the BBC, telling them that it was better than having her kids.
Sarah and partner Mark were interviewed on BBC One, as part of the channel’s coverage of the late monarch’s state funeral.

They spoke to presenter Sophie Raworth this morning, Monday September 19th, revealing that they were some of the last people to see Her Majesty’s coffin before her funeral. Sarah and Mark travelled to London to join the queue of mourners late on Sunday night, and were among the last of the hundreds of thousands of people to pay their respects.
Sarah claimed visiting her coffin was better than childbirth, saying: “Amazing, I think it’s the best thing I’ve ever done in my life. “Even having my children, Lily and Luca, I think this tops that. It was just amazing. I’m so pleased we did it.”
She went on to add that their journey to London was made at the last-minute, saying: “I couldn’t find anyone to look after my own children, so I asked my mum.
“It just came over us and we said we’ve got to go.” According to Mark, Westminster Hall was ‘surreal’, while Sarah said that you could hear a pin drop in there.
