The Osbournes will be returning to screens after nearly twenty years as the family prepare to move back to the UK.

The reality series first aired on MTV in 2002, and followed the unconventional family life of Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne, his wife Sharon and their children Kelly and Jack.

The family were catapulted to global fame thanks to the success of the series, which paved the way for similar fly-on-the-wall reality shows such as Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

And now, nearly two decades on from the show’s end in 2005, Ozzy and his clan will be returning to screens once again as part of a BBC-commissioned reboot.

While the original programme followed their lives in LA, the BBC version will follow their journey back to the UK as they settle into their new Buckinghamshire home.

Speaking of the new series, Clare Sillery, head of documentaries at the BBC, told Metro: “Twenty years ago, the Osbournes left Britain for a life in LA. Now they are coming ‘home to roost’, back to their family home, pretty much as they left it all those years ago.

“In this new series, our audience will be able to follow the family as they settle back into their new life in a Buckinghamshire village.

“It promises to be a funny, moving and honest insight into their new life back in the UK.”

In a recent interview with the Observer, Ozzy explained he wanted to return to the UK due to the amount of mass shootings in the US.

He said: “Everything’s f*****g ridiculous here. I’m fed up with people getting killed every day.

“I don’t want to die in America. I don’t want to be buried in f*****g Forest Lawn. I’m English. I want to be back… It’s time for me to come home.”

A release date for the BBC’s The Osbournes is yet to be announced.
