This Morning viewers brand Simon Gregson’s post-I’m A Celeb interview with Vernon Kay ‘funniest ever’

Viewers have branded Simon Gregson’s This Morning interview as ‘the funniest ever’ following his I’m A Celebrity stint.

The Coronation Street actor came in second place to winner Danny Miller in the reality show’s final on Sunday night, and sat down for an interview with This Morning’s stand-in hosts Vernon Kay and Josie Gibson the following morning.

However, viewers believed that Wythenshawe-born Simon, who became well loved in the castle for his fun sense of humour, was still a little bit tipsy from the previous evening’s celebrations.

When discussing his infamous eating challenge – where he was tasked with eating a sheep’s penis and cow’s vagina – he went into the kind of detail only a man several pints in possibly could. 

Much to the amusement of both the hosts and the viewers at home, Simon said: “The one thing I never thought I’d be looking forward to was eating a hairy vagina… I had the largest vagina on normal TV to eat.” 

At this point, Vernon interjected and pointed out: “It’s five past ten everyone, good morning. Welcome to This Morning.”

Undeterred, Simon continued with his vivid description, noting that it ‘looked like a 1960s sausage roll’. 

The presenters then steered the conversation to Simon’s famed wind-breaking habits in the castle, where he revealed he had only eaten a ‘cheese sandwich’ back at the hotel.

He said: “I can trump with the best of them but the rice and beans diet was like they were making a remake of Blazing Saddles.

“I actually got to the point half way through the experience where I thought, I need to see an expert. This isn’t normal.

“As soon as I’ve done this interview I’m going to go see an expert.”

Viewers were quick to take to social media to express their amusement over the explicit interview, with many branding it as the ‘funniest ever’.

One social media user wrote, “As if I didn’t like Simon Gregson enough, seeing him p***ed on #ThisMorning is absolutely hilarious”, while another commented: “Simon Gregson just casually talking about vagina at 10am. He’s constantly a funny guy.”
