Listen carefully, we shall say this only once!

A special ‘Allo ‘Allo! live event featuring original cast members is coming to Manchester this summer.

The BBC sitcom first aired in 1982 and followed the life of René Artois, a French café owner in Nouvion during the German occupation of France in the Second World War.

Throughout the series, René – played by Gorden Kaye – had to deal with a whole array of problems caused by a dishonest German officer, a local French Resistance leader, a stolen painting, and a pair of trapped British airmen, all while concealing from his wife the secret affairs he is having with his waitresses.

The show also gave rise to a successful touring stage-show featuring most of the TV cast –  this ran from 1986 to 1992, and included three London stage runs as well as international tours.

‘Allo ‘Allo! was a huge hit with UK audiences and became one of the most successful BBC comedies ever made.

So fans will be delighted to hear that, twenty-nine years on from it’s original release, some of the cast members are reuniting for a one-off live event here in Manchester.

On August 21st, Richard Gibson (Herr Otto Flick), Guy Sinner (Lieutenant Hubert Gruber) and Kim Hartman (Private Helga Geerhart) will be discussing their time on the show and sharing their hilarious back-stage stories with an audience at Altrincham’s Bowden Rooms.

The evening will include a French-inspired three course meal, replica sets, audience Q&A, live entertainment, television memorabilia auction and a souvenir photo with the cast members.

And as for the dress code? Well, guests will be asked simply to pay homage to their favourite ‘Allo ‘Allo! character.
