If you’re stuck for ways to keep the kids entertained while the schools are out, this might be a solution.

Starting next week, a drive-in cinema is coming to town, one which the organisers say is safe as it complies with social distancing guidelines.

Families will be able to watch a  variety of films from the safety and comfort of their car, when the One Drive-In series starts next Thursday, March 26th, at EventCity.

The event description reads: “In light of arts spaces and cinemas across Manchester closing to aid with social distancing, One Agency is bringing entertainment to families to ensure care-free fun is had by everyone, in a safe environment. Now families can enjoy feel-good films at a Drive-In Cinema at EventCity.”

Two films will screen a day, at 2pm and 6pm, including hits like The Secret Life of Pets 2, Toy Story 4 and Mary Poppins Returns.

There’ll also be The Lion King, Bohemian Rhapsody, The Lego Movie: The Second Part, Dumbo, Aladdin and Avengers: Endgame.

Walt Disney Studios

Films will be shown on three huge, high-quality screens, with the whole thing set up so you don’t need to leave your car at all – there is a toilet if you really need it, which will be cleaned regularly to keep people safe.

Tickets come in at £20 per vehicle, and you can bring your own food and drink – head over to the ticket site here for more info and to get involved.
