Celebrated actor and comedian Sir Lenny Henry will be hosting an exclusive black tie event in Manchester later this year.
Sir Henry has enjoyed a colourful career – not only has he established himself as one of Britain’s most successful comedians, he also co-founded the charity Comic Relief, which raised over £40m for those living in poverty last year alone.
The actor was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 1999 New Year Honours and was eventually knighted in the Queen’s 2015 Birthday Honours for his services to drama and his extensive charity work.

His life story is a fascinating one, so fans will be delighted to hear that he will be hosting an exclusive, one-off Q&A event right here in Greater Manchester.
During this exciting new event, which will be hosted at Altrincham’s Bowdon Rooms, Sir Henry will be sharing never-before-heard stories from his incredible life – from growing up in the Black Country, school, friendship, family secrets and unashamed racism.
With his mother’s mantra of ‘integration’ echoing in his ears, Lenny will recount setting out on his rollercoaster ride of a career – but at every stage wondering whether he was good enough.
Sir Henry will be interviewed live on stage and will also answer questions from the audience.
