Lightopia has announced the news they will be extending the dates of the incredible light festival to combat the national lockdown.
The award-winning and visually spectacular lantern and light festival, at Heaton Park, will now open on Thursday, December 3rd.
It will now be running for an additional week until January 10th.
The festival is currently working with local authorities, in accordance with government guidelines, to create its socially distanced festive spectacular in Manchester.
There’s a whole new route to create a covid-safe environment and give guests the chance to see the sights safely.
There will be social distancing, a one-way system, three entry points to reduce queuing and direct access to two car parks.
Lightopia will also be featuring a massive 10-metre illuminated Christmas tree for the ultimate festive day out. You’ll pass by Santa’s sleigh and can even make your own festive soundtrack with a giant interactive walking piano.
Ticket holders who have been affected by the new dates have been informed directly and advised on other options including moving to another date in December or getting a refund.
Children under three go free, child tickets are £13, adults £20 and family ticket costs £60 (two adults, two children). Key workers can also receive 20% off their ticket price!
