Manchester’s iconic Atlas Bar has officially reopened after undergoing a huge refurbishment.
Atlas Bar has been a staple city-centre haunt since its opening over two decades ago, and has become well known and loved for its vast gin collection, which is currently the largest out of all the bars and pubs in the city centre.
According to its owners, the bar boasts over 570 bottles of gin – all of which can be perfectly paired with its tempting selection of flavoured tonics – with new additions arriving every week.

Atlas also boasts a cosy beer garden around the back, a spot situated to receive some of the best sunshine in the whole city.
And while the bar may be known best for its gins, it also serves a selection of craft beers, fine wines and a delicious food menu courtesy of resident chef Ross, who has previously worked at the likes of Arbutus and Harvey Nichols.
However, due to its unique location in the railway arches of Deansgate, Atlas Bar is required to undergo checks and potential refurbs every ten to fifteen years in order to ensure the safety and security of the building.
The bar closed its doors on February 27th, with the owners explaining the bridge’s need for inspection and saying they hope to be back open ‘within four weeks’ on social media.

Well, they managed to stay true to their word, with Atlas Bar having officially reopened just four weeks later – and it’s looking better than ever.
While all 570 gins have stayed put, the venue itself has been fully redecorated, while the city-famous sun terrace has undergone a spruce up, with new seating making for an even better beer garden experience.
Atlas Bar is open every day of the week and accepts walk-ins, so make sure to get yourself down there while the weather holds up.
