Morrissey has shared the details of his UK 2022 tour set to begin later this year.

In a social media post on his Morrissey Central page today, the former The Smiths singer announced nine new shows in Blackpool, Doncaster, Glasgow, Stockton, Manchester, Birmingham, London and Brighton.

These will join the previously announced concert in Killarney, the only scheduled performance in Ireland of the whole tour.

Alongside the announcement, Morrissey assured fans that ‘everyone is welcome’ at his concerts, which will enforce no rules, regulations or restrictions.

The message read: “Full details will appear next week of Morrissey’s ten upcoming concerts in Eire and the UK. The dates are fixed for September and October.

“No rules / regulations / restrictions will be in place for these concerts – everyone is welcome.”

The Urmston-born singer is currently working on his fourteenth album ‘Bonfire of Teenagers’, which will be debuted to the world at his Las Vegas residency next month.

In a statement, Morrissey previously said on the upcoming album: “The thrill of this album was the speed under which it was recorded.

“Considering the knots of grief I had experience [sic] at the time, it made ‘Bonfire’ an incredible achievement for me.”

This is Morrissey’s first album since been publicly dropped by his label BMG Records in November 2020.

At the time of the announcement, the singer said the news was ‘perfectly in keeping with the relentless galvanic horror of 2020’, as per NME.

He added: “We would be critically insane to expect anything positive… It’s still important to me to do music my own way, and I wouldn’t want to be on a label that dictates so specifically how their artists should behave, especially when the word ‘talent’ is notably never mentioned.”

Morrissey’s UK tour will begin at some point in September. Make sure to follow the Morrissey Central website for news and updates.
