New images have shown what we can expect from the huge £250M Therme Spa, water park and wellness centre being built next to the Trafford Centre.

Plans for the twenty-eight acre site were confirmed last March, where it was revealed that the ambitious new resort will be double the size of Therme’s existing wellness centre in Bucharest, which opened in Romania in 2016.

It was also detailed that the glass-domed facility will aim to encourage the ‘wellbeing of people and the planet’ with facilities to entice all ages – including twenty-five pools, over thirty-five water slides and thirty saunas and steam rooms, as well as a weekly timetable of changing exercise classes.

‘Hundreds’ of water-based activities will also be available to guests, alongside a number of wellbeing treatments and art, nature and technology activities, all wrapped up in a ‘unique experience never before seen in the UK’, with Therme Group bosses saying they hope the centre will bring an ‘everyday holiday to people across the North West of England.’

Other daily programming will include water-based fitness classes, with gardens surrounding the area, ultimately creating spaces for yoga, Pilates and a whole array of other wellness activities.

Richard Land, Chief Development Officer of Therme Group UK, said: ” Therme Group is based on a belief that wellbeing should be accessible for all.

“The events of 2020 have shone a light on the necessity of this mission, especially for those in cities. Therme Manchester will redefine city wellbeing, enhancing mental and physical health through an experience based in water and nature.

“It will offer a unique holiday at home, that acts as a catalyst for healthy lifestyles.”

Upon completion, which is currently scheduled for 2023, Therme Manchester is expected to generate thousands of jobs and welcome over 1.5 million visitors.
