Piccadilly Gardens to be transformed for huge Jubilee party with street food and live music

Piccadilly Gardens will be hosting a party ‘fit for royalty’ this bank holiday, complete with street food, live music and a whole host of entertainment. 

The Jubilee Jamboree will kick off this Thursday, June 2nd, and will be open from 11am – 7pm every day, right up until the end of the Jubilee celebrations on Sunday, June 5th.

The Gardens will host a number of independent street food vendors, live musicians and dance performances as part of the city’s Jubilee celebrations.

And that isn’t the only thing happening in Manchester across the historic weekend; also on Thursday, the lighting of the beacon will take place in St Peter’s Square, just one of thousands being lit across the UK and Commonwealth.

Shops and restaurants will also be transformed into a ‘floral extravaganza’ as part of The Manchester Flower Show this weekend, with stunning show gardens, cocktails, live music and even a Queen’s Jubilee Floral Trail.

The trail will feature ten beautiful displays located across the city centre inspired by the Queen’s seventy years of service, including the Crown Jewels, The Changing of the Guard, and the Queen’s famous love of horses.

Elsewhere, there will be talks and live music on the main stage in Exchange Square, a Manchester Flower Show Cocktail Trail, pop-up food and drink stalls on New Cathedral Street and Exchange Square, and a flower and craft market on Market Street.

And to round off the extended bank holiday, the council will also be hosting a Sunday Funday in Central Library, where families can enjoy a full day of vintage films, crafts and face painting.

“We’ve got some brilliant entertainment planned and hope to see Mancunians enjoying the Jubilee weekend in style.”
