Parents struggling to keep their children entertained during the summer holidays will find solace in none other than a Blackpool waterpark.
Blackpool Wake Park, located just over an hour’s drive from Manchester, offers a whole array of water-based activities, ranging from wakeboarding, stand up paddle boarding, and kayaking.
But perhaps the most popular activity the park has to offer is its inflatable floating assault course, which gives guests the chance to race their family and friends in a Total Wipeout-style challenge.
The Aqua Park assault course is suitable for groups, families and children, though those under the age of ten must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
And for those wanting to enjoy something a little less extreme, there are a number of other water-based activities available at the park, including wakeboarding with a state-of-the-art System 2.0, giving beginners the chance to learn how to wakeboard effectively.
The wakeboarding sessions costs £20 for a fifteen minute session with an instructor, which includes a buoyancy aid and helmet, while wakeboards and wetsuits can be hired for £5 each.
And those less confident on the water can book a beginners session for £30, where they will get to practice on dry land, a fifteen minute session on the water and a debrief.
Paddle boarding is also an option for those wanting to get out on the water, with fifty minute sessions for adults and children costing £20.
Kayaking is also offered at Blackpool Wake Park, with single kayaks are available to hire for £15 and double kayaks can be hired for £20.
All activities can be booked over on the Blackpool Wake Park website, or via telephone on 01253 836543. The park is open throughout the full summer holidays, though opening times may depend on weather conditions.
