There’s an Oasis-themed bar run by Bolton’s very own Gallagher brothers.
Mark and Paul Gallagher, 36 and 40, from Breightmet, are both lifelong Oasis fans so, last year, they decided to pay homage to their fellow Gallaghers by combining their love for the band and their specific skill sets – running pubs.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News shortly before the bar’s opening last year, Mark said: “We argued over the name for a few weeks but I had a bar in Portugal called Definitely Maybe and we always toyed with the idea of opening one over here called that.

“There were plenty of other names but that’s the one that felt right.”
The Definitely Maybe Bar replaced an Indian restaurant in an underground space in Bolton’s St. Andrew’s Court in February 2020.
Mark believes that the location, down a flight of stairs and away from the hustle and bustle of Bradshawgate, can be a positive thing.
He explained: “We want people to be able to relax here, pop in and end up staying six hours because you’re so comfortable.

“The beauty of us being an underground bar is you don’t know what’s going on outside so you can just stay here as long as you like, without sleeping here!”
Yet while the bar is inspired by the rock band, there are only subtle nods to them throughout the décor, with the owners going for a more modern feel to the place for everyone to enjoy regardless of their taste in music.
And the menu doesn’t just consist of cigarettes and alcohol (sorry not sorry) – guests can choose from an array of cocktails, such as espresso martinis, pornstar martinis and mojitos to sip either inside or outside in their outdoor space.
There’s also a selection of beers, as well as coffee and cakes for those wanting to visit during the day.

But staying true to their Oasis roots, there are also open-mic nights, live music and football on the big screen – because it wouldn’t be a real Oasis bar without music and football, would it?
Mark explained: “We will be having live music and live acts that will tie in with the indie vibe without shoving it down people’s throats.
“We will be showing football as well because that’s the two things that Oasis and Manchester really stand for – football and great music, with some good cocktails thrown in for good measure.”
The bar has experienced huge success since reopening after the pandemic, so bookings are recommended to avoid disappointment.
Definitely Maybe can be found at 18 St. Andrews Court, Bolton, BL1 1LD.
